# What is the W-9 Form?

## Why the W-9 form is required and who needs to fill it out on Insense

 

The form is used in a wide range of payment situations. Most commonly, taxpayers fill out a W-9 when working as a freelancer or independent contractor rather than an employee.

Insense is required by law to keep its earning creators’ tax information current on behalf of the IRS.
